Dr. Julia Vigna Bosson is a cognitive-behavioral psychologist dedicated to providing effective, evidence-based care. Integrating cognitive-behavioral therapy with the core principles of mindfulness, she emphasizes nonjudgment, compassion, and acceptance and aims to produce tangible results. Her therapeutic approach is pragmatic, collaborative, transparent, flexible, and unconditionally supportive. Dr. Bosson’s goal is to empower her patients with skills and confidence that extend far beyond the therapy room and into their everyday lives.
With nearly two decades of experience in clinical psychology, Dr. Bosson brings deep expertise to her work. She specializes in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and has worked in both VA Medical Centers and the NYU PTSD Research Program. Dr. Bosson is trained in several empirically-supported treatments for PTSD, including Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Dr. Bosson also has a specialized focus in reproductive psychology, providing care for women across the reproductive lifespan. She offers support for individuals and couples navigating fertility challenges and conducts third-party psychological evaluations for those using Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), including donor gametes and gestational carriers. She is especially passionate about helping women cope with pregnancy-related and postpartum anxiety and depression, postpartum OCD, and postpartum panic disorder. She also uses principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness to shepherd patients through the challenges of early parenting and beyond.
In addition, Dr. Bosson applies her expertise in exposure therapy to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, panic disorder, and social anxiety—with particular specialization in fear of flying. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and incorporates DBT skills for emotion regulation and distress tolerance, enhancing her work in anxiety management and broader emotional wellness. Her experience with cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) allows her to effectively treat insomnia as a primary concern as well as a symptom of other conditions.
